Cryptsoft's Key Management Interoperability Protocol (KMIP) Client
has been licensed to the Cloudian Inc. for their HyperStore object
storage product, enhancing their security offering with market proven,
open-standards and industry-validated encryption key management
technology.
With Cloudian's focus on managing limitless amounts of data in a
cloud-native format, Cloudian required an encryption key management
technology that was scalable, flexible and interoperable. KMIP, an
open-standard technology that focuses on interoperability and flexibility
while bringing true full key lifecycle management to any vendor product
was an ideal technology fit.
"As the leading OEM supplier of KMIP key management technology, Cryptsoft
is fully aware that our strength lies in our implementation being fully
conformant with the KMIP standard so that we can support all possible
use-cases for any market. It is refreshing working with a licensee who fully
understands and appreciates that 'key vaulting' is not 'key management'
and that true full key lifecycle management elevates any security solution
to a level expected and demanded by the customers every vendor wants to
sell to."
Justin Corlett, Business Development Manager, Cryptsoft
"Security is a core value of our HyperStore storage platform, and we
continuously invest in tools and technology to maintain our leadership
position. With KMIP technology, we will bring enhanced, full key
lifecycle management of all security objects to future versions of
HyperStore. Cryptsoft's KMIP technology delivers the highest level of
security and lets our customers interoperate with any KMIP enabled key
management server or service whether on-prem, hybrid or cloud."
Glenn Haley, Senior Director of Product Management at Cloudian.

Cryptsoft's Key Management Interoperability Client (KMIP) has been
licensed to the OSNexus Corporation, bringing market proven, industry
validated KMIP technology to OSNexus' industry-leading QuantaStor™
Software Defined Storage (SDS) platform.
Securing data-at-rest with encryption technology is an essential
capability of any successful storage solution in today's market, including
Software Defined Storage. As storage moves from appliance based to
software defined solutions, managing the keys used for encryption becomes
even more critical due to the multitude of locations encryption keys
can be used in storage solutions. KMIP solves this management challenge
with a modern, open-standards based, interoperable technology that also
ensures the consumer avoids vendor lock-in and maintains control of
their encryption keys.
"We've been heavily investing in security features and improvements for
QuantaStor to meet customer demand. This includes our recent FIPS-140-2
certification from NIST to the KMIP support we introduced with QuantaStor
5.11. Now, with QuantaStor 5.12 we've taken our KMIP key
management support a major leap forward with our new partnership with
Cryptsoft. QuantaStor now leverages the industry leading Cryptsoft KMIP
Client SDK which gives QuantaStor full support for the broad spectrum
of KMIP servers on the market today."
Steven Umbehocker, CEO of OSNEXUS.

Advance Open Standard Enabling the Interoperability of
Threshold Sharing Schemes
OASIS Open, the global open source and standards
consortium, announced that its members have approved
SAM Threshold Sharing Schemes Version 1.0 as an OASIS
Standard, a status that signifies the highest level of
ratification. Developed by the Security Algorithms &
Methods (SAM) Technical Committee,
SAM Threshold Sharing
Scheme V1.0 is intended for developers and architects
designing systems and applications that utilize threshold
sharing schemes in an interoperable manner.
"SAM Threshold Sharing Schemes V1.0 aids in
the interoperability of applications implementing
cryptographic capabilities in support of OASIS and other
standards and specifications. Many organizations are
unable to conform with a range of specifications that
deal with cryptographic algorithms or methods because
those algorithms and methods are not documented in a
manner that is able to be referenced."
said Tim Chevalier of NetApp, co-chair of the
OASIS SAM Technical Committee and co-editor of the SAM TSS specification.
